1.Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Codekra, including the website, problems, learning paths, lessons, code editor, daily challenges, leaderboard, blog and any related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.
2.Who can use Codekra
You may use the Service only if you can form a binding agreement with us and are not barred from using it under applicable law.
If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You must in any case be old enough to consent to the processing of your personal data in your country.
3.Your account
Some features — such as saving progress, completing lessons, earning stars and appearing on the leaderboard — require an account. When you create one, you agree to:
- •Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- •Keep your password secure and not share your account with anyone else.
- •Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- •Tell us promptly at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
You may sign in with a third-party provider such as Google. In that case, your use of that provider is also subject to its own terms and policies.
You must not create accounts by automated means, create multiple accounts to manipulate rankings, or use a username that impersonates someone else or is offensive.
4.Acceptable use
Codekra is a place to learn. When using the Service, you agree not to:
- •Break any law or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
- •Harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against other users.
- •Cheat or manipulate the leaderboard, stars, points or progress, for example by scripting lesson completions or sharing accounts.
- •Scrape, copy or redistribute problems, lessons, editorials or articles in bulk, or use them to build a competing service.
- •Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or bypass any security, rate-limiting or access controls.
- •Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or networks, or place an unreasonable load on them.
- •Upload or submit malware, or any content that is illegal, harmful or misleading.
- •Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited promotions.
If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to us privately through the bug report page instead of exploiting or publicising it.
5.The code editor and running code
The Service lets you write code in supported languages (currently Python, JavaScript, C++ and Java) and run it on our servers. When you run code, you agree that:
- •Code runs with usage limits, such as a maximum running time. Programs that exceed a limit are stopped, and limits may change at any time.
- •You will not submit code designed to attack, escape or overload the execution environment, mine cryptocurrency, access other users' data, or reach external systems.
- •Output, results and timing information are provided for learning purposes and may differ from other environments.
- •We may log code you run and its results to operate, secure and improve the Service.
Code drafts may be stored in your browser so you can pick up where you left off. Clearing your browser data may remove them. Keep your own copies of any code that is important to you.
6.Your content
“Your Content” means anything you submit to the Service, such as code, solutions, profile information, comments, bug reports and feature requests.
You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant Codekra a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, run, process and display Your Content as needed to operate, provide, secure and improve the Service. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except where we are required to keep it by law or where it has already been shared with others.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit Your Content and that it does not violate these Terms or anyone else's rights.
If you send us feedback, ideas or feature requests, you agree that we may use them freely, without any obligation or payment to you.
7.Codekra content and intellectual property
The Service and its content — including problems, descriptions, examples, test cases, learning paths, lessons, editorials, blog articles, design, logos and software — are owned by Codekra or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service and its content for your own learning and non-commercial purposes, in line with these Terms.
You may share links to Codekra pages and short quotes with attribution. You may not otherwise copy, republish, sell or create derivative works from Codekra content without our written permission.
8.Leaderboard and public information
To make learning more motivating, some information about your activity is public:
- •Your username, avatar (if you set one), stars and points may appear on the leaderboard and other public pages.
- •Rankings are calculated automatically and may change at any time as data is updated.
We may adjust or remove stars, points or rankings, or exclude accounts from the leaderboard, if we believe they were earned through cheating, abuse or error.
9.Plans, payments and cancellation
Some features may be offered through paid plans. The features and prices of each plan are described on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
- •Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- •You can cancel at any time; you keep access to paid features until the end of the current billing period.
- •Prices are shown inclusive or exclusive of taxes as indicated at checkout. You are responsible for any taxes that apply.
- •Payments may be handled by a third-party payment processor, subject to its own terms.
- •Refunds are handled as described at the time of purchase or as required by applicable law.
We may change our prices or plans. If a change affects your active subscription, we will tell you in advance, and the new price will apply from your next billing period.
10.Third-party services and links
The Service may include links to, or integrations with, third-party websites and services (for example, sign-in providers or payment processors). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
11.Privacy
We collect and use personal information — such as your account details, progress and the code you run — to provide and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
We use cookies that are necessary for the Service to work, such as keeping you signed in. You can ask us about the personal information we hold about you, or request that it be corrected or deleted, by contacting us at the address below.
12.Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep Codekra available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance, and the Service may be affected by issues outside our control.
We may add, change or remove features, problems, lessons or content at any time. If we discontinue a paid feature you have paid for, we will provide a reasonable remedy where required by law.
13.Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by contacting us.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if your use creates risk or harm to us, other users or the Service.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Your Content licences already granted, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity — will continue to apply.
14.Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
Codekra is an educational tool. We do not guarantee any particular result, including passing an interview, getting a job or achieving a certain skill level. Solutions, editorials and articles are for learning and may contain mistakes.
15.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codekra will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or a nominal amount if you have not paid us anything.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
16.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Codekra harmless from any claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, Your Content, or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
17.Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we may also notify you through the Service or by email.
If you keep using the Service after the updated Terms take effect, you accept them. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service.
18.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Codekra is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply where they give you additional rights.
If you have a concern, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
19.General
- •Entire agreement: these Terms, together with any terms shown at purchase, are the whole agreement between you and Codekra about the Service.
- •Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- •No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- •Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a merger or sale.
- •Headings and summaries are for convenience only and do not affect the meaning of these Terms.
